Perito Moreno - Large

This lighting sequence is named for one of the few glaciers in the world still advancing. Situated on the shore of Lake Argentino, Perito Moreno casts a duplicate image of itself into the waters. Iris Kadouri's Perito Moreno does the same.

Whether it's the small or medium model with one bulb or the large model with three bulbs, Iris's Perito Moreno implies something is going on in the other side of the mirror.

As in the La Paz project, Iris again creates a light source within a light source while also playing on what you "see" and what you "know".

She ingeniously took a regular Edison light bulb, cut it in half, and attached it to the mirror surface. A Halogen bulb was inserted to light up the Edison bulb. The eye will unquestionably be confused -- half the design is real, half imaginary. This novel approach expresses elegance.

The small model is best used as a wall fixture; the medium size as a hall mirror; and the large size as a vanity mirror.
